Chinese telecom equipment maker ZTE Corp's controlling shareholder plans to reduce its stake by as much as 3 percent after the stock more than doubled in value since surviving a U.S. sanction last year, showed regulatory filings late on Tuesday. ZTE in the filings said state-owned controlling shareholder Zhongxingxin Telecom plans to sell up to 2 percent in ZTE A-shares via block trades within 90 days. Zhongxingxin has also proposed to use not more than 41.9 million ZTE A-shares, or 1 percent of the company's total share capital, to subscribe for units in the ICBCCS SHSZ 300 exchange-traded fund.

Peltz will advise the group on its global acquisition strategy and potential business partnership, Aurora Cannabis said, and will be granted options to purchase around 20% of the company's shares at $10.34 each ($7.74). "Nelson is a globally recognized business visionary with a strong track record of constructive engagement to generate accelerated, profitable growth and shareholder value across many industry verticals that are of great interest to us," said CEO Terry Booth.

According to a 2018 Fidelity Investments analysis, average retirement-account balances are $106,500 for 401(k)s, $111,000 for IRAs, and $85,500 for 403(b)s. That's a far cry from what Fidelity recommends most Americans save: six times their salary by age 50, and seven times their salary by age 55. About 29% of households with members aged 55 and over have neither retirement savings, such as 401(k) plans or individual retirement accounts (IRAs), nor a defined-benefit (DB) plan (a traditional pension). AT&T will make its customers pay more to stream television channels starting next month. The Dallas media and telecom giant is raising prices by $10 a month for its DirecTV Now customers, according to its website. AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T), which acquired HBO with the merger of Time Warner last year, is looking to collect more revenue from online television services as other providers shuffle or raise prices as well.
There is no obvious positive catalyst this morning but that may be part of the reason that the market continues to trend higher. If there was positive news it would be a good excuse to take some profits but since there is nothing specific there isn't much choice but to stay with the uptrend until something changes. The FAANG names are doing well this morning, small caps are better and breadth is very strong as it approaches 3 to 1 positive, but the most interesting action is in the cannabis sector this morning.

The Verge reported that AT&T will both dump previously offered channel bundles on DirectTV Now, while raising package prices to around $50 a month, as it looks to add HBO to its base plan. The reports followed comments from AT&T CFO John Stephens, who reaffirmed the group's earnings guidance in a presentation at Deutsche Bank's Media, Internet and Telecom Conference in Palm Beach, Florida Tuesday, but noted that near-term numbers will fluctuate given the inclusion of WarnerMedia, following last year's $85.4 billion merger with Time Warner, and the changing nature of its mobility business.
